Wixon adds Renee Santy as food scientist

Wixon, a St. Francis, Wis.-based manufacturer of seasonings, flavors and technologies for use in retailers’ own-brand foods and beverages, said Renee Santy joined its company as food scientist in the  Consumer Products Lab.

Santy is responsible for creating private label customers’ requested new products, including dry packaged mixes and seasoning blends, as well as for ensuring that specialty products meet claims such as gluten-free, non-GMO and clean labeling that consumers are seeking. She also brainstorms and develops new product concepts for customers, Wixon said.

Santy has more than seven years of experience specializing in research and development and product applications for a wide range of food categories, the company said. Prior to joining Wixon, she served as a color scientist for Chr. Hansen in Milwaukee and an associate food scientist for Newly Weds Foods in Chicago.
