Amazon could be planning drive-up grocery

7/27/2015

According to a July 23 Silicon Valley Business Journal article, Amazon Inc., Seattle, could be developing a drive-up grocery store concept in Silicon Valley. The concept would allow consumers to order grocery items online and schedule a pickup at a dedicated facility. Amazon’s first location for the concept could be in Sunnyvale, Calif. Although Amazon is not named in the documents, a real estate developer recently submitted plans for a new 11,600-square-foot building and grocery pickup area in Sunnyvale.
