PLMA's 2016 Private Label Trade Show to showcase new products, ideas

9/16/2016

The more than 4,500 retail buyers and visitors expected to attend the Private Label Manufacturers Association's (PLMA) 2016 Private Label Trade Show will find educational sessions, nearly 2,800 exhibits showcasing new products and technologies, and a private brand “Idea Supermarket” focusing on what innovative retailers are doing with their store brands. The exhibition and conference will take place Nov. 13-15 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., which is a 10 minute drive from O’Hare Airport, PLMA said.

In two exhibit halls, companies will display food and beverages, including shelf-stable, frozen, chilled and fresh-prepared food. A third exhibit hall will focus on non-food products in the categories of health and wellness, personal care, over-the-counter drugs, pet care, kitchen and household, and general merchandise, PLMA said.

The opening seminar on Sunday, Nov. 13 —“The New Mass Market” — will feature Ali Dibadj, a senior analyst with Bernstein Research, New York.  His presentation will be followed by three concurrent seminars: “How America’s Eating Habits Are Changing,” moderated by Kathie Canning, editorial director of Store Brands magazine; “Even Pets Love Store Brands,” moderated by Seth Mendelson, group publisher and editorial director of Grocery Headquarters and Pet Business magazines; and “Packaging Trends Revisted,” moderated by Pat Reynolds, vice president and editor of Packaging World, PLMA stated.

The Keynote Breakfast on Monday, Nov. 14, meanwhile, will feature speaker Chris Wallace, the host of Fox News Sunday. The following day, Neil Stern, senior partner with Chicago-based management consulting firm McMillan Dolittle will  discuss the retail trends worth watching during the “PLMA Live!” breakfast.
